The striking rock towers of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains are the landmarks of the Wilder Kaiser region in Tirol. Hiking trails lead through mountain forests, then alpine meadows and finally mountain scree fields to the foot of steep stone walls and up to the deeply incised rock cliffs. Opposite are the gently rising grass mountains of the Northern Kitzbühel Alps which are much easier to hike, thanks to gondola lifts and panoramic trails. They offer a spectacular view of the rocky crown of the Wilder Kaiser.
