The Wilder Kaiser golf course in Ellmau is one of the best-known 27-hole layouts in Austria. Across 90 hectares lie three gently rolling 9-hole courses — the Wilder Kaiser course, the Ellmau course and the Tirol course — which combine freely into an 18- or 27-hole round. The course sits quietly in the landscape, and the Kaiser massif is in view from almost every hole.
From the Gafalhof it is about 10 minutes by car to the clubhouse. If you have never played, you can start at the Golfakademie Wilder Kaiser, run by PGA Professional Hannes Recheis — one-to-one lessons or courses. For the curious there is a taster session every Sunday from 4.00 to 5.30 pm, June to September.

The Kaisercup is a regular competition at Golfclub Wilder Kaiser — 18 holes Stableford, played every other Thursday. The 2026 calendar holds over 50 dates in all, from club competitions to open events.
The clubhouse, a converted old farmhouse, has a reception, a pro shop with equipment and golf clothing from well-known brands, changing rooms, a caddy room and a comfortable club restaurant. The terrace looking out at the Wilder Kaiser is a favourite after an evening round.
Yes — there is a covered driving range (usable in light rain), putting and chipping areas and a practice bunker. Ideal for warming up before a round or for focused technique work.
