The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser–Brixental is one of the largest and most modern ski areas in the world — voted “best ski area in the world” twice in a row (test portal skiresort.de). 275 kilometres of pistes, of which 229 km have snowmaking, split into 115 km blue, 121 km red and 10 km black runs. Plus 81 cable cars and lifts, 80 staffed mountain huts, 9 ski villages with direct access — all on a single ski pass. From Going you can reach the Astberg (gentle, family-friendly), the Hartkaiser (an all-rounder), the Hohe Salve (a viewpoint at 1,829 m) and Söll (snow parks, night skiing).

From the farm to the piste
It is an 8-minute walk from the farm to the Astberg valley station – or 3 minutes on the free KaiserJet ski bus. That takes you straight into the gentle, family-friendly Astberg ski area – perfect for children and anyone getting back on skis. If you want more, the Hartkaiser is 10 minutes by car, with the longest valley run in the region (7.5 km) and access to all 275 kilometres of SkiWelt pistes.

The SkiWelt has 115 km of easy (blue) runs, 121 km of intermediate (red) runs and 10 km of black runs — plus 29 km of ski routes. That makes it unusually versatile: perfect for families and beginners, and still demanding enough for stronger skiers.
The highest point is at 1,864 metres. Combined with the favourable position on the northern edge of the Alps and modern snowmaking (229 of the 275 kilometres of pistes can be covered, over 83 %), that means dependable skiing from early December to the end of March.
Yes. There are several hire shops in Going, Ellmau, Söll and the other villages, with skis, snowboards, boots and accessories. Ski schools are on the spot too — the Going ski school takes the children in the mornings. We are happy to help with bookings.
